Update: NYFW, P&M, Burning Webs & Higher Shellfish

Though it hasn’t been a very cold winter, today marks the midway point through the season. Regardless of groundhogs & shadows, it’s pretty easy to see that Spring is on its way. Even so, the more yin than yang tides of the season are certainly drawing us more inward than outward. We can expect to experience more of that, which is a good thing.

Not that there’s any lack of activity to attend to, at least not on my end. My schedule has been jammed packed with work in my world as well as in the Wonderland of Fashion. New York Fashion Week is one week away & I have been in NYC helping my friend Eila on a new project, one that is opening many doors for her. I get to happily assist: keeping the vibe high as I watch with great delight how things are lining up for her. It is great fun & very rewarding to help make another person’s dreams come true, especially with such a close & dear friend whom I consider a sister.

I am taking a week off from my duties at The Silver Broom & as a teacher through Drawing the Circle to go deeper down the rabbit hole that is NYFW. There are a few events early next week on the calendar. Wednesday night’s Prayer & Meditation group may be canceled, as a new opportunity may be surfacing for me to be at in the city on 2/8. But we will know that for sure soon & will make the appropriate changes to the schedule as it unfolds.

But let me say that last night’s inaugural meeting of Prayer & Meditation was really cool. The sharing in the first hour was really well balanced with the application of spiritual practice in the 2nd hour. The words & energies just flowed & as fried as I was from a long day in NYC, I had a blast. Feedback was good, but my own astonishment at how uplifting it was is my own proof that this was a good change to make to the DTCP weekly event schedule. YAY!

This leads to the subject of my own personal Imbolic intentions. At Yule I cast to be in the Vortex more & more consistently. The Vortex is in reference to the Teachings of Abraham via Esther Hicks. It describes a vibrational escrow in which all the things we ask for are held until they manifest into form. The trick is getting into the Vortex to be a vibrational match to that which we desire, which means emotionally feeling good more than not. Simple, but not always easy. This is the focus of our weekly Tuesday night’s Vortex Appreciation Group.

To build on my Yule intention now at Imbolic, I am really focusing on the 2nd Chakra as it correlates to the 2nd sabbat of Imbolic. Its Shadow is Greed. Its Grace is Piety, a word that I am discerning & experiencing on ever deeper levels of meaning. The usual definition of piety is ‘reverence for God.’ But in the 1 on 1 dynamic of the 2nd Chakra, it is more like respect & reverence for each individual in my life, sexuality, creativity & money. Fun stuff, but it does take some work aligning it all. Thankfully we have a month & a half to get it all together little by little.

I have a candle lit as I write this, reminding me to keep my boundaries clear & to remember that each person I interact with is really God in the process of awakening to their truth. This makes forgiveness a bit easier, as I can see them as an aspect of myself growing, healing & learning just like I am. I may not always agree with people, nor do I have to enmesh myself in the dramas & illusions people wrap themselves in like webs. Please, I have enough of my own to dissolve. But a lot of these will be dealt with in the 3rd Chakra & the sabbat of Ostara come March.

Still, does the form of an illusion matter? No, not really. One person’s insecurities & fears are but a mirror of my own. What differs in form is the same in content. So the work is the same: forgive, forgive forgive, allow, allow, allow, even if I don’t choose to be around it alot. The work is worth doing. The more in the Vortex I am, the easier it is for me to make peace with myself & where others are in their process. Then it is easy to let go, move on & attract to myself the next step in my own journey.

So it is that the fire of Imbolic illuminates on a 2nd Chakra level, inspiring me to give through the Grace of Piety instead of demand & grab through the Shadow of Greed. Remember, Greed isn’t just about money. It is about power, attention & one of the most heinous, the Greed to be right even in the face of truth that we are otherwise. That’s a bitch. But I have the light of Breid or Brigit, the Goddess of Fire, Inspiration & Creativity to clear away the webs of what’s not real anyway. Though it may certainly appear to be until it is confronted. Best dressed? Worst dressed? Um…we are spirit dressed as separate human beings first. Undo that illusion & whether it is couture or crap is less important. Forgive, forgive, forgive. Allow, allow, allow.

It looks to be a very interesting month. As I traverse between the world of Witches & the world of Fashion through the looking glass, I am sure the Grace of Piety & Brigit’s fire will be my ally. I intend to stay in the Vortex as much as possible, if only because I’m kinda selfish that way. Besides, I’m better at helping others when I’m feeling good myself, so it’s a kind of Higher Selfish inspired through Piety rather than Greed. It all fits when you step back & look at it & really, there’s no other way I would rather live. Unless we are also serving Higher Shellfish.

This Sunday Service is the first Sunday Service of the New Year.

Hello People & Happy New Year!

I just wanted to take a moment to wish you all the very best for 2012 & to remind you that The Silver Broom will be closed Sunday. This means we have canceled Sunday Morning Services for January 1st. Yeah, we will be sleeping in & wish you a safe & festive New Year’s Eve.

That said, we kick off our next WitchClass Cycle One this coming Monday night, January 2nd at 7pm in Sayville. If you are interested, let us know as reservations are required for the 1st class.

First off, I want to thank everyone who was at the Silver Broom Annual Yule Party last night. Whether you were there in person or in spirit, you are all appreciated. It was a wonderful opportunity to look back & see how far we have come as a community. We have been doing that Yule ritual every year for over 15 years. Amy & I started it with our coven when it was small, in our home. Now it has grown to 2 larger rituals each year, one public & one private. We expect it to keep getting larger.

This year was an extremely interesting one. The last few weeks before Yule we can step back & look at the themes of the last Wheel of the Year. I look back at the Yule spell I did for myself last December, intended to work its magick the whole year around. I have to ask, did it work? Is the theme of the spell visible throughout my personal Wheel? Well, it’s a good thing I write stuff down huh? All I had to do was look at my desk & there it is hanging since last December. To answer the question of did it work, yes it did. I cast for something very specific, yet general. Why don’t I just give you the first part & you can see for yourself.

To feel the Love & Peace of God is really all my heart desires.

To feel it each & every day will heal my mind & take me higher.

To feel it so consistently will only guide me & inspire.

To feel true oneness in this way gives me all that I require.

It goes on, as my personal spells tend to, with rhyme & where possible consistent meter. But the basic intention was to experience a deeper daily connection with the Divine, to feel it, each & every day, even if just for a few minutes. Let’s face it, I’m a Hedonist. I openly admit it. Give me enough time & I can pray myself into bliss. It is one of my favorite things to do, wicked cheap & really dependant only on my willingness to go there.

So the spell was about helping me to feel it every day & that would sort out everything else in my life. I’d be inspired to action when needed & follow my intuition as best as I could, consistently. The question begs then, how did I do?

That spell worked. Just about every day I got myself to feel the Peace & Love of God, to the point where it became a necessity. Is it any wonder that the year would take me through deep personal work with A Course in Miracles, Archetypal Dynamics & of course my work with the Vortex as taught by Abraham-Hicks. I was led through the year reaching for deeper & deeper experience of the divine through feelings & emotions. I feel confident & fluent in all three mentioned paths, though to many they aren’t comfortable bedfellows. But there you have it, I’m an eclectic Witch. I’m going to mix & match as I go ‘cause that’s just how my broom flies.

My point is, now we briefly look back & see the themes, determine what we want in the next Wheel & cast for it this Yule. We have the wisdom of the past year being finally collected for this passing wheel & getting ready to step into the first spoke of the new one. It’s a pretty powerful place.

By the way, looking back at this past year I mostly see a trail of love: so many new people, so many opportunities. I think of Beltane & the fun we had through Witchclass cycle One & Two. I got to do what I love most in this life, teach & taught the gamut of my repertoire. I fell in love over & over again. I followed the flow & came to understand more clearly how important emotional guidance is & that I am responsible for my emotions. I taught much & I learned much.

So what will my Yule spell be this year? If I say Joy… it’s a good word, but doesn’t really convey the intention. I want to take it all to a new level, my career, my writing, my relationships, health & all of the good stuff. It is a tall order, but I really only have to do one thing, be the person who can pull it all off. All I have to do to get there is to be in alignment with my Source, no matter what I may call it from day to day. That is 100% up to me, so the spell is just to get me on board.

While my personal spell is still developing I want to share the one Amy & I created for the Coven & Community. I have added it at the end. It’s based on the idea of a Vortex of creation: a vibrational reality where all cooperative components exist for us to create our lives. The keys to getting into the Vortex are feeling & emotion. In other words, you have to feel good to get in.

We wrote the spell with a strong fragrance element so it works with emotional scent memory. When you feel in the Vortex & sniff the spell, it will link the feeling to the scent. It creates a loop of feeling to scent & back again. For those of you who actually have or will have the pouches Amy & I made… We hope you like cinnamon.

Hello People,

December is here & with Mercury doing His backward dance in the sky, I am
taking all communications slowly. Still, business must continue onward &
upward, so I figure it’s time to get this month’s schedule out there with an
update.

The website is indeed already updated with the most current events at
_www.drawingthecircle.com_ (http://www.drawingthecircle.com) . We’ve had a few
technical glitches with PayPal, so that’s not up yet. But I’m hoping to get
it in quickly so people can at least purchase gift certificates for readings
& healing sessions etc.

People usually come for readings in December to help them prepare for the
holidays & the new year. But I also spend a good deal of January reading for
people who got G-Certs as gifts. So, if we’re not up & ready with PayPal,
you can always drop by The Silver Broom in Sayville & pick one up, no
biggie. If anyone has any questions, drop me a message & I’ll do my best to
hook you up.

My personal goals for the season are pretty simple, get the bills paid, buy
the gifts & make sure that I book time for people to chill out event-wise.
This is why I am teaching & doing private sessions pretty much 7 days a
week. But hey, I love what I do with a passion & as a result I keep getting
better at it.

The big event for December is The Silver Broom Annual Yule Party, which we
will be celebrating publicly on Thursday the 15th from 7 – 10pm in place
of our usual An Enchanted Evening. It is a potluck event with a Yule Ritual
at 8pm. I will post more about that next week, but if you want to join us
that night, mark your calendars.

Otherwise, life is good. I am already booking January with tons of good
things. We will be adding a new monthly event, “A Day in the Vortex” which
will be 5 hours of immersion into the Law of Attraction via the Teachings of
Abraham. I just love teaching this stuff so much that I want to do it for
longer sessions. That’s what I want 2012 to be about for me, “Do only what I
love & act only when inspired.” Not bad for a Yule Spell actually & maybe
that will be our annual ‘gift spell’ at the Yule party.

But with the Moon currently in Pisces & Hermes running backwards, I’m
going to chill, feel good & have fun with the downstream ride into the
Holidays. So if you wanna come play, get some clarity or just hang out in the
Vortex, you know where to find me, smiling & enjoying the moment.

Hello All & Blessed Samhain,

Now that Witch Month has concluded I find myself relieved & refreshed for November & the rest that Samhain-tide brings. Samhain isn’t just one day. It is a month & a half of rest & transformation that prepares us for the new birth of life at Yule. It is wise to take this time to slow down & let this part of the cycle of nature have its way with us.

Yes, it’s the season of death, that is obvious, just look out your window at the trees. But the death we face this next month & a half is certainly more inward than outward. So it is that as we rest, slow down, contemplate & meditate upon our interior landscape the outer shifts accordingly & with more grace.

I find myself looking at the rush of activity that the holiday season demands each year & each year I engage with it less & less. Some have said that’s just because I’m getting older. I sense it is because I am getting wiser. In other words, I have learned to take action only when it is inspired. Or to put it differently, “Get into the Vortex, then take action.” Pretty simple, not aways easy, yes?

So we are presenting our November schedule to support that flow inward & keeping in mind the outer callings & responsibilities we all have to do & deal with. For example, I am keeping the weekly classes consistent. So many have come to recharge in different ways in different groups.

Monday’s WitchClass Cycle One is just a hoot. Amy & I adore our new students & really enjoy yukking it up with the alumni. That gives us a weekly dose of Magick that reacharges us & besides, Amy & I love teaching together.

Tuesday is the Vortex Appreciation Group which juices me up big time. The focus on the Vortex as per the Teachings of Abraham / Jerry & Esther Hicks has become a really upbeat, uplifting & joyful event for me. I know those who attend get a huge kick out of it. It’s the Law of Attraction at its best & I know it will serve through the holiday season for those who want the support.

Wednesday’s Forgiveness Forum is just a must for the season as Samhain tends to bring up the old patterns in ourselves & others that would hold us back from moving forward. Forgiveness is the alchemy that turns lead to gold in the world behind our eyes. Wouldn’t it be nice to be at peace no matter where you are or what is going on around you? This is one of my favorite groups & is available for anyone looking to shed the psychological & spirutal burdens that need to be transformed.

Thursday is my free for all night with Magick, Miracles & Mysticism. I have taught this more advanced spiritual & metaphysical information for a few years & I am revamping the course outline. It includes just about everything I teach from Archetypes, Chakras, LoA, ACIM & whatever else I have picked up along the way including Witchcraft. It is currently my only 3 hour weekly course & is worth every minute. Its focus on the 3 Levels of Power is perfect for creating the balance needed in life to move through challenges & into peace. It is advanced, but it is also couched in my sense of humor, so buckle up & ride the waves.

Saturdays host Morning Miracles. I just don’t know how I would survive without this one. My work with the Course in Miracles is my spiritual spine upon which all else extends. “There is no healing without Forgiveness” the Course states plainly. Considering Samhain brings up so much, a regular pit stop to share with the miracle minded makes it easier. I love this morning group as it helps me remember what is real & what isn’t.

Sundays as you know is our weekly Sunday Morning Services. We keep it going as support for the community & to showcase new & inspiring speakers other than myself. I’m good for a sabbat & enjoy resenting new stuff at services. But there are so many other bright people looking to share that its a natural place to debut new talent.

For example, this Sunday Lady BrightArrow is presenting. She is our first & newly ordained Silver Broom Minister as of last week. I am so proud of her knowing what she endured to reach her 3rd Degree & ordination as clergy. Check her out as this week she discusses Faith & her process of finding it herself after a string of hard life challenges.

So that’s if for the month event wise.You never know what else is on the horizon though. I keep the schedule flexible for a reason, you just never know. But now that I can slow down a bit, rest assured that I’m on the job, staying in alignment with Source as best I can & providing the public with events & private sessions to support, uplift & create space for those who want it. What fun & what a brilliant season stretches out before us all. Drop in & sit for a spell, you never know what’s going to manifest next, or maybe you do…
